Master of Science

Master of Science (M.Sc.) is the two-year postgraduate degree in the sciences and, at engineering institutes, in specialised engineering fields.

Common specialisations in Nepal include physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, microbiology and environmental science, together with engineering streams such as structural, construction management, energy, water resources and information systems engineering.

Coursework runs through the first year and most of the second, with a compulsory research thesis. It is the usual qualification for laboratory leadership, college teaching and research careers, and the entry point to MPhil and PhD study.
