Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) prepares students to work with communities, families and vulnerable groups. It combines social science theory with professional practice methods: casework, group work and community organisation.
Supervised field placement is compulsory and takes up a large part of the later years, usually with an NGO, INGO, hospital, school or local government office.
It is a direct route into Nepal's large development sector, and graduates commonly move into project work with NGOs, INGOs and social welfare organisations.
