Bachelor of Computer Application

Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) is a four-year, eight-semester IT degree offered very widely in Nepal, most of it under Tribhuvan University.

The emphasis is applied rather than theoretical: programming in C, C++, Java and Python, databases, web and mobile development, networking, and a project in most semesters. The final semester is a full project or internship.

BCA is usually easier to enter than BSc CSIT and lighter on mathematics, which makes it a common choice for students from a management or non-science background who want to work in software.
