Degree Highlights
This is a 60-credit-hour, 4-semester master's degree focused on Mahāyāna Buddhist philosophy, literature, history and practice. The curriculum covers Buddhist Sanskrit literature and language, Buddhist art and iconography, archaeology, architecture, Buddhist history, world religions, Buddhism in East Asia, Buddhist tourism and research methodology. Students also complete a thesis in the fourth semester.
